Personal Background

My name is Ishai Rosenbaum, originally from Israel, living in Berlin, Germany since 2013. Grew up in a Kibbutz (a small socialist community) in the center of Israel, served three years in the Israeli army (plus 19 years as reserve soldier) and studied History and Political Science at the Tel Aviv University. History is up until this very day one of my biggest passions, together with linguistics and art.

I also enjoy cooking (and own two cook blogs), playing trumpet and ukulele, movies, good music of (almost) all genres, photography and writing.

Professional Background

Started my professional career as a Writer and Editor, and after a short episode as a sports journalist, found myself in Bank Leumi – the largest bank in Israel. I started there as a Web Content Editor and web content manager, but with time I found more and more interest in the more technical aspects of web content management and websites administration, and took responsibility of the ongoing development of the content management systems of the bank’s websites.

Building Websites

Parallel to my day-job, I started developing my own hobby – building small websites and blogs on the WordPress and Joomla platforms. This little hobby grew up to be an extra source of income, and after leaving my cushy job at the bank and moving to Berlin, it became my main occupation.

Today I work part time for a company in Berlin – ENERdan GmbH – which hired me to build and maintain its websites and social media channels – and offer my services as Web Designer and Web Administrator.
